About Us
An avid outdoors enthusiast, I find joy in both solid ground and the rippling sea, be it under sun, rain or snowfall. 13 years ago I fell in love with the freedom of sea kayak. My passion extends to the mountains and fjords of Nordland, with much of my time in Norway dedicated to exploring Lofoten through hiking and kayaking. In addition as a professional fisherman, I proudly serve as both the captain and crew aboard my fishing vessel. Hunting in the Norwegian coastal waters from Lofoten to Nordkapp and beyond.

What is the duration of the guided sea kayak trip in Reinefjord?
The guided sea kayak trip in Reinefjord takes 3 hours. Including weather briefing, safety and stability instructions, kayaking tips and adjusting the equipment.
Is prior kayaking experience necessary to participate in the trip?
No prior kayaking experience is required. Our experienced guides will provide basic instructions and ensure that everyone feels comfortable before setting out.
What is the best time of day for the guided sea kayak trip?
We launch 3 times a day. 10:00 and 15:00 and the midnight tour at 20:00. Each time of the day provides different light and weather conditions. But an unforgettable experience nevertheless. We do guided trips from may to september.
What should I wear for the sea kayak trip?
Dress in layers suitable for the weather conditions. Quick-drying, comfortable and warm clothing and a waterproof outer layer are recommended. Don’t forget to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen if you need. Wear comfortable shoes or sneakers.
Will I get wet during the kayak trip?
While it’s possible to encounter splashes, sea kayaks are designed for stability. You may get a few drops on your jacket or hair.
Can I bring my camera or phone on the kayak?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring waterproof cameras or phones at your own risk. Make sure its properly secured to a floating device. Once lost in the fjord it can not be retrieved.
Are children allowed on the guided sea kayak trip?
The trip is suitable for participants of various ages. Children are welcome but you have to let us know beforehand. We provide special life jackets for kids.
What happens in case of bad weather?
Overcast sky or mild rain is not a problem, only strong winds can cancel the tour. We will inform you a day before your tour in case of cancellation. Safety is our top priority. In the event of adverse weather conditions we will reschedule, or a full refund will be offered. Our guides will assess the weather situation and make the best decision for the group.
Where and when do wee meet up?
We meet up 10 minutes before your tour starts at our office at Reinefjorden Sjøhus reception. Skagen 41, 8290 Reine – Hamnøy
How do I make a reservation for the guided sea kayak trip?
The best is to call us or send a message. We are on WhatsApp. This way you will get up to date informations about weather conditions and other interesting tips. Reservations can also made online through our website link or email nordlandoutdoor@gmail.com.
Can I cancel or modify my reservation?
You can cancel up to 24 prior the trip with full refund. Contact us as soon as possible if you need to make any changes to your booking.
Is transportation provided to the kayak launch point?
Transportation is not provided.
What wildlife can we expect to see during the kayak trip?
Reinefjord is known for its diverse marine life, and it’s possible to encounter sea-birds, eagles, seals, and possibly even orcas.
Can I bring snacks or drinks on the kayak?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. However, we ask that you be mindful of waste and use appropriate containers.
Are restrooms available during the sea kayak trip?
Restroom facilities are not available during the kayak trip. You can use the facilities at our office before the excursion begins.
